CultureChat (Episode 2): Indian Culture and Identity

In our second episode of CultureChat, we explore Indian culture and identity through the eyes of Elizabeth Sherman, an American cross-cultural expert, and her husband Abir Rajkhowa, an Indian engineer and marketer from the State of Assam.

Peppered with moments of humor and laughter, this interview shares insight into the cultural differences between India and the United States, the importance of the Indian caste system, India’s response to COVID-19, and its struggle to preserve its cultural heritage in an increasingly globalized world.

From the National Registry of Citizens (NRC) and the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) to the Chinese-Indian dispute over the Himalayan border, Liz and Abir shed light onto some of the complex cultural, historical and geo-political developments that have shaped India into the country it is today.

Thank you, Liz and Abir, for such a wonderful discussion, and for sharing your time and insight with us!!
